Regions and zones
Your data lives in one or more named Storage Zones. Each zone is located in a specific country and operated on the infrastructure of a specific cloud provider. You choose the zone when creating a project.

The following Storage Zone is currently bookable:

The available regions, zones and providers evolve continuously. What is always decisive are the zones shown during project creation as well as the service specification; the tables above are for orientation.
Zone isolation
Storage Zones are network-separated from each other and from the central Business Zone — with their own private subnets and separate provider projects. Only management and metadata are synchronized between the zones over encrypted, mutually authenticated connections. If the Business Zone is temporarily unavailable, the Storage Zones can continue operating based on zone-local data.
What the zone choice means
- Data storage. Your encrypted backups physically reside in the chosen zone(s) and thus in the respective country.
- Provider diversity. By selecting the zone you also determine the infrastructure provider.
- Sovereignty. All locations are in Europe.
